Senate Unanimously Passes Resolution Affirming Support for Israel, Drawing Bipartisan Backing, Divided on Working Class Support, Yet Unified in Funding War Efforts

While Congress faces challenges in reaching a consensus on legislation to aid the working class, a remarkable display of unity was evident in the Senate concerning the resolution in support of Israel. The Senate passed the resolution with a resounding 97-0 vote in favor. It's worth noting that while Congress can sometimes face division on various issues, including legislation related to the working class, this unanimous Senate resolution demonstrates a unified stance in support of Israel regime.

The initial draft of the resolution indicated that 99 out of 100 senators co-sponsored it, with only Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky initially not signing on. However, it was later clarified that Senator Paul did indeed co-sponsor the resolution.

Furthermore, it notes the readiness of the United States to provide emergency resupply and various forms of support to Israel, encompassing security, diplomatic, and intelligence assistance. President Joe Biden was slated to call on Congress to pass a supplemental package, including aid for Israel, in his remarks on Thursday night.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer emphasized the significance of the resolution, stating, "October 7, 2023, will go down as a day of infamy. And as Israel faces the darkest hour of its 75-year history, the bipartisan resolution we are about to vote on proclaims that as long as there is a United States of America, the people of Israel will never stand alone."
